Champion Radiator, aluminum shroud, & electric fan - kit $359.98

Anyone have any experience with the Champion radiators kit? I know the radiators are fantastic because I just put one in the 'vert...just wondered if anyone has their aluminum shroud and electric fans.

3 row radiator, aluminum shroud, 2-14" electric fans - $359.98

Hey Steve, first of all thank you for mentioning that the radiator is great, because that's exactly what I wanted to know in another thread, I might buy one, too!
I don't have any first hand experience with the shroud and fans, but I didn't read a lot of good things about them, because the shroud blocks too much air to be effective!
Maybe this is a method to consider?!

Thanks again!

No problems with the radiator. I didn't buy the the electric fan kit because after several hours of research the general consensus was that the fans are garbage.

I find the G body 3 core is barely big enough for my 403. The drain **** is in an ignorant spot and buggered up too. Go 4 core, if you do get one. I am thinking the Griffin Dominator, next time out.

I found the same problem with the Summit-branded aftermarket aluminum radiator I used for my 67 442. The petcock hit the LH frame horn when the radiator was installed in the stock location. Even using a plug instead of a petcock wouldn't help because there wasn't enough room to get a wrench on it. So, I moved the mounts enough to the right that I could open the petcock. It was a PITA getting the fan shroud and top plate lined up then, so I had to slot some of the mounting holes. It all works fine now.

That's what I have in the silver car right now and it's the same way. One of the tanks sits in the cradle but the other one is way off. I just put one of the Champion's I mentioned in my convertible and it fits great...

I know I'm gonna get a radiator from them but I was thinking about the fans too...but maybe not if they're not any good.

What size champion radiator did you go with and what temperature does your engine run with it?

We put a 3 core in the convertible and it cruised for 200 miles with a 180 thermostat and never broke 190...with the A/C on the whole way. I think they are pretty good radiators and it fit in the factory location with a factory 4 core top plate.

Agreed.

I have the 4 core Champion Radiator for my LS swap.
I'm not using their cheap low CFM fans they overcharge for.

I'm using a 90's Ford Taurus fan.
4000 cfm junkyard $40 fan baby. My write up on Nastyz28
that or the Ford Windstar fans are great inexpensive options you can get new for ~$80.
