Couldn't be happier with the car! It's doing well for what I've done so far. I still haven't put the PMT stuff on it...if you remember the Santa Clause thread.

Well...Santa struck again. I came home to this on Valentine's day. My wife and I were confused at first, but it finally dawned on me where it came from.

So now that I have a baseline for the engine, with a moderate tune I can now change the suspension components around and tune it. I can't wait to get into this project, I just hope I can get away with the extra money it may cost. We'll see what the Warden says about all of it

That was me asking Tom Sickafoose (SickyOlds) what to name the video. He is staying with me for the weekend and we were so tired. I said "What do I call it?" He said "Awesome Sauce 2013...BOOM!" and we proceeded to laugh our butts off from exhaustion...So I went with it.

We were so tired because we went to bed at 3:30AM Saturday morning only to wake up at 7:00AM for a, uh, "class" we are taking.

And yes, that was a top alcohol dragster in the lane next to me tuning for the next days season opener.

Oh Joe, you have no idea what's in store. The next one should be better by a couple of tenths...I won't say how many. And yes...the car has made up it's mind what it is going to be when it grows up

I have the tools to stir up "sauce'. This stir should be good for two to three tenths

Sounds like a bigger 'squirter' might help that off-idle stumble, but might ignight the tires, in return!
Nevertheless - nice pass!

I believe the off idle stumble you're talking about is the dragster in the other lane. He popped the throttle early.

drjr, another friend of mine told me it was spinning but I thought he was full of it. After you mentioned it I watched closely a few time times and I'll be damned...it is spinning, pretty bad too!

I've got the rear shocks set to 50/50...should I move them to 60/40 or 70/30 to make the rear squat more? I've got a BOP coming up on May 11th and I would like the car to be as consistent as possible. The track we're going to be at isn't gonna hook as well as Houston Raceway Park does.

That 60' time is only a little better than mine was when I ran my almost stock 69 442. Your 1/8 mile mph suggest potential mid 11's. Your car plants nice, little adjustments with suspension and tire pressure should help.Gotta love it!

You want the rear to squat less. You should see the body separate from the tire on launch. This indicates that the tires and whole rearend are being pushed to the ground planting the tires.
If you see it squat it has the opposite effect and you lose traction. You end up pulling the tires up into the body.
No-Hop bars, LCA relocation brackets, air bags, etc. will help it work better and lesson your 60 ft. time. Since you already have the adjustable UCA make sure the pinion angle is down about 2-4 degrees while sitting still. Ultimately you want the pinion angle level when it launches, not wrapping up into the floor boards.

I've seen where the entire car lifts instead of just the front, and you do see separation.A friends 427 mustang launches that way.I believe his 60' times are low 1.6's in an11.40 car. It's a 67 and they are leaf spring unibody cars, that weight about 3400lbs.

What you have already heard here. No " squat ", go back and look at the videos of Big Red and you will see the rear lift as it pushes down on the tires. Physics...for every action an equal and opposite reaction..raise the back of the body, and the tires push harder on the track.

Yes to -2 to -4 degrees pinion angle and that should help. Your'e running Southsides, so No-Hops not needed but if you switch to the other lower control arms in the stock location, then you may want No-Hops.

San Antonio should be prepped well for the BOP Race as it's the Midnight Madness race with lots of fast Slick-tired cars. Big Red has gone 1.40 at SAR, so it's possible to hook there.
