69 442 race car build

Milan is an Olds expert, he has been an Olds guy since the 60's. Captain Chebby is just being a dick, big surprise. Those bumpers look amazing, very cool, would have never thought of getting fiberglass bumpers spray chromed.

WHOA THERE!!!
Who is This captain Chebby You refer to?
that is some strong language for a thread with no one arguing....
remember there are some younger members here who don’t need to be pulled into drama on Chadman’s nice thread

I love Chadman's car, I know he is your buddy but he has polluted nearly every thread on this board. He took a shot at Cutlassefi as usual. Chebby boy probably has no idea who Milan is, us Olds guys do. He attacked Dr Dan's build, again a life long Olds guy who is nothing but nice to this community and an asset.

I know exactly who Milan is. Milan also races fast NA full weight small tire cars. Milan also has plenty of track data to back up his engine builds...........whats not to like.
Your right about one thing, Battenrunner is a good friend, but first he was a customer.

Cool, I had 26x10.5-15 on 7 then 10, now back on 7 inch rims. My rear end is **** eyed, so even 275/60R15 tires contact on one side with 10 inch rims. Your intensions are clear with those tires and that car.

Chad, I sure hope someone will do a feature on your car to show others how nice you can do one of these cars with efforts and money in the right places. It truly is a work of art. Once we see how it runs, it will be the full proof.

Chad,
I can't remember if your cage goes through the dash or not. I just started butchering up my dash this past weekend to start repairs, modifications and molding it around the A-pillar bars. I am just doing what I have always done to fit it up, keep it removable and make it asthetically pleasing but, I always like to see what other people do here.
thanks,
Josh

They look real good from about 15 feet but if you get right up close you can tell it's not a true chrome plated steel bumper. Saved 75 lbs of weight though so I'm OK with it.

My A pillar bars go behind the dash but they are very tight and parallel to the pillar. I actually think it works better this way on these particular cars. Some cars that the dash comes further back it looks better the other way. I also went with a non vented dash pad because I thought it gave the interior a cleaner look.

Thanks guys. I'm very pleased with the results for the first outing. That was foot braking also. I plan to try out the trans brake on the next outing along with some shock adjustments. I really think it will go 9.2X in good air.

I took the car up to Milan Dragway yesterday for a T&T session. The air was great (-60ft) but the track was junk. Made three attempts but never could get the car off the line. I did run it out the back door once after pedaling it and got a new best mph at 143.

Nice....1320/143=9.23 the numbers don't lie.
#230
Congrats on the new PR and thanks for the up date.

I plan to run some 6.0 1/8 mile index stuff at Dragway 42, some bracket stuff at Norwalk and possibly go to a B.O.P. race or two with it. I also plan to build the RR block based short block that will replace the current one.

If this car weighs 3250, I wouldn't change a dam thing on that engine until its been 144.50 MPH and at least 9.10, I feel thats very possible, but I would be looking at whats behind the engine you can be sure of that. Although I realize the track maybe has been a problem, theres more there in the first 660, and thats in the drive line. Of course its only been to the track 2 times? And for heaven sakes get a wheelie bar on there, atleast until you get it dialed in.

"Just not my style" hate to see you hurt that beautiful car, I don't run them on my car either...........but I've hurt a lot of stuff. GRP is two block over from my shop.
