WTB - 64 Starfire parts
WTB - 64 Starfire parts
- Looking for a door panel Starfire emblem,
- Front fender Starfire scripts and starbursts (x2)
- A nice rear panel (around the taillights) with "Oldsmobile" letters
- The trim piece that surrounds the "T" shifter in the console
- Lens for the map light
- Both cornering lamp assys (complete)
The front fender scripts are available from Fusick Automotive ;
http://www.fusick.com/catfile/Catalog%2023BC.pdf
The rest of the items will probably have to be found used or NOS .
E-Bay is the best source. Set up an E-Bay search titled " 1964 Oldsmobile "
and check it daily. Sooner or later everything will turn up, although it may take a few years.

- Looking for a door panel Starfire emblem, Tough find.
- Front fender Starfire scripts What Charlie said.
- and starbursts (x2) There are different part #s for convertible front fender and coupe roof stars. Convert attaches with studs and tinnerman nuts. Coupe has threaded studs.
- A nice rear panel (around the taillights) with "Oldsmobile" letters Unobtainium. Been looking for one for 30 years. Even nice used ones are often corroded around taillight openings, and the letters often fall off.
- The trim piece that surrounds the "T" shifter in the console Again, tough find. 64-66 consoles are the same but 65-66 have THM shift pattern.
- Lens for the map light Used on many big Olds 63-66 and I've seen similar on big Pontiacs.
- Both cornering lamp assys (complete) Does car already have them?
Thanks for the replies and direction! So far I've done well with but a couple phone calls. I'm used to locating rare parts so this is another day at the office.
- Located complete 64 Seats incl wiring and all trim (left power, R manual) - $500 shipped (dark greek but thats ok)
- Located door emblem - $35
- Front fender scripts - Fusicks it is.
- Front fender starbursts - LOOKING
- Rear panel - LOCATED
- Shifter trim - LOOKING
- Map light lens - Can only find damaged examples
- Cornering lamp assys - This car was not equipped, I want to add them. Still looking

Are they the identical except for the way they mount? Same design and hole pattern?

Spacing is different between the mounting studs, John, and I think the convert pieces are actually larger than the coupe pieces. No, I don't know why Olds did that!
Wait'll you get into the different size exhaust pipes... should you want to put the factory style chambered exhaust back on it, https://sweetthundermi.com/ in Michigan has the chambered sections to weld into your headpipes. They used to show the Starfire appilcation but it's not in their online catalog; ask them and pretty sure they'll know what you're talking about. The front resonators are going to be the hard piece to find; rears are still fairly common.
