Looking for 61/64 394 Stick Flywheel
Looking for 61/64 394 Stick Flywheel
I am looking for a stick flywheel for a 1961-1964 394 Olds motor. Seems like I am looking for a needle in a haystack?? Any help or suggestions would be sincerely appreciated. Tom
Yes Tom, you are right. I found my needle 25 years ago or so. The show up on ebay from time to time, along with some aftermarket ones. As for mine, if it doesn't get used by the time I go, I will either pass it tom my boy or get buried with it...
Thank You!
Yeah, ebay will most likely be my savor. I found a NOS Aluminum one, but don't want a wheel that light for the street with my lumpy Engle. I guess I could always have one made, but that would really hurt this old retired Vet's bank book. Wish me Luck, as I have been known to have lousy luck on ebay. Ha, W Va is where I found the '62 394 that I will be rebuilding, it sure is a small world! Thank You for your input. Tom
Try Ross Racing( Toney) they make all kinds of speed equipment for the first generation Olds motors along with transmission adapters and such.....Tedd....https://rossracingengines.oursafeser...early-catalog/
No Luck with Ross!
Hello Again,
I just picked up a NOS 166 tooth ring gear for a 62 394 with manual transmission. So, now I am on the hunt for a donor wheel that I can have machined into the flywheel I need. Has anyone here done this, and if so what wheel did you use?? An ancient Olds guy said that I could just use my '59 wheel with a bit of block grinding??? Anyway, I am committed to having a flywheel made up, as I want to keep the '59 wheel as is. I will have the 394 internally balanced when I have it rebuilt, so that problem should be taken care of. Thanks in Advance for any help, Tom
