Does the car have A/C ? I have a 1970 defogger and a "heater" control unit I will sell as a package.

Ted,
Just an FYI in case you've not looked at the backside of the face plate. ALL of the 70-72 face plates are exactly the same and have the extra slot/mounting bosses for the switches for the rear defogger. So you don't really need a new faceplate, you just need the switch and new applique that goes over the top. Oh, and the extra finishing **** for the switch.

That should save you a lot of time/frustration by avoiding having to undo the cables/vacuum lines for a whole unit swap. Cheers!

Be aware that the repro appliques do not have the raised chrome edge around the levers like the GM originals.

I have found 2 NOS appliques over the years, so they are out there.

Depends how fussy you are.....

True enough, just around the slides - which were universal. Wonder why they didn't put the reveal at least around the fan speed lever like the slides have.

TED, here's a pic showing the dash unit (left) with no applique and another one with. The little hole between the two levers is for the indicator light (rear defog on glass) and not used with the blower type defog. I know you can take it from there.....
