Unhappy Looking for '69 H/O NOS...

Hello everybody! I have an account looking for parts for '69 H/O! Preferrably NOS...Needs are as follows-

-lft qtr panel
-left rear wheel opening molding
-left taillight assy complete
-rear bumper
-decklid

A real nice bumper core(no rot and straight) and real clean rust free decklid could also do the trick, as well as the wheel opening molding would be acceptable used! Please let me know. The car was just sold for $90K, looks like it was meticulously restored, and never even made it out of the dealer when the driver exited the car, left it running on a long ramp, and apparently didn't know how to work the dual gate when the car rolled backwards about thirty feet downhill and into the corner of the building. Probably also needs a nice clean frame, as the car did diamond! Thanks...Erik

Hi Erik, good to hear from you!

That story is enough to make a grown man cry!!! I may have a few items but there's a lot of new folks on the site. You may be able to find something closer.

John

Did the new owner do this or a dealer employee?

Good to hear from you. Wondered where you've been.

Smile '69 h/o

I have a '69 hardtop frame down here in sunny south Florida. Let me know if interested: drolds1@bellsouth.net.
We did a '69 H/O for a good customer, a number of years ago. He wanted to "experience" part of the restoration process, so he pulled the body off at home, removed everything from the frame, sent it out to be stripped and refinished, and then brought it to us to reassemble the rolling chassis. As we were installing the engine that we had just built, we noticed that the front crossmember was slightly collapsed around the pass. motor mount. Upon further examination we found that the right frame horn was in 1 1/2"! He didn't think anything about the extra spacers (washers) between the frame and bumper bracket; he just thought that that was how they did things at the factory. We had to quickly grab a frame, get it stripped and painted and transfer everything to it.
Thanks, Bob.

The owner of the dealer did it! Fortunately, everyone involved from the dealer to the car owner, is a millionaire, so although sad for the car, money is not going to be an issue! I will try to get some pics of the car and post them for all to see. I'll try to get the # off the car also. Who knows, maybe someone here knows this car!

Frame damage...

Rocketman Bob, is that the only damage you know of on your frame? Could be repaired? If the frame is that good, I'll give him your contacts! Thanks, Erik

Well John, you are the man! If you have anything, and are willing to crate up, I would love to hand you the business! You parts are always clean, and you ask a fair price! If you have a decklid or bumper core, let me know! I'll send your contacts to the shop! Erik

Erik, the story about the damaged frame was just an aside! I have a '69 Cutlass, 2-dr hardtop, with an UNDAMAGED frame. I guess that I should have made that clear in my post. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks, Bob.

There was a guy who was advertising a pair of NOS 1/4's on 442.com, ebay, and now craiglist. But he was selling them as a pair, and they were big bucks.
