70 Vista Mouldings

Hi, I am looking for the moldings that seperate the roof twotone on a 1970 Vista Cruiser. There are 4 mouldings on a roof twotone car. Thanks Steve

There are five moldings actually, the C and D pillars have moldings at the bottom and the molding on the top of the tailgate has projections on the ends to tie into the D pillar moldings.
Here's a pic of a two tone Sportie with one.

Thanks for remembering that. I knew that but forgot to ask for it. I am painting the roof a different color and would like to find a decent set otherwise I will stripe where the mldg. should be. So I need the 5 mldgs for the two tone roof color. These seem to be tough to find but I see pictures of car with them. I don't know how they are attached either.

I may have those, I'll dig around this weekend to see what I can come up with. John

there are holes in the body and they snap into the little round metal dowels like a trunk emblem does. the back two also have one visible screw on the inside. the pieces are hard to find, they are also on 72's

Hopefully John has those and the search is over.
Two-tone second generation Vistas are rare, I've only seen a couple with vinyl tops other than the '72 Indy Pace Car Vistas, same moldings?

Probably should of had those holes for the moldings drilled out before you primed?... hindsight is always 20/20.
The Fisher Body manual shows the types of molding attachment that is used for each piece of trim from the cowl back for all the GM cars for the year.

John, If you can come up with those mldgs. that would be great. Thanks

All the Vistas I have seen with the mldgs. were painted roof cars. I did see a Indy car one live with the vinyl top though.

I have only the first coats of primer on there now. Most of that gets blocked off and reprimed so if I found the mldgs. it would be no problem. Pin stripe would work.

I just looked at a set on a 68 wagon and the two front moldings are chrome plated diecast while the rear moldings are stainless steel. Henry

I'm sorry Steve, it looks like I'm striking out. I thought I had a set but may have sold them already and had forgotten. John
