Gary,
Do you actually "need" the 1968 headrest? They were not yet federally required, and were optional from the factory, so not all cars got them. Translated: They are rare. They vary from the 1969 model in the way the mounting rods/spines "latch" to their respective latching mechanisms. After searching for a few years, I gave up and used '69 versions in my '68.

I would prefer a 68 one but I might have to do what you did on using a 69. The headrest that I have had cracked and i tried to fix it. Its ok but I would like to replace it. The headrest on my 72 did not fit very well.

Gary, I don't know if this would work for you, but some of the aftermarket joints sell headrest covers. They are made of the same nylon material as the seats. This might be a direction you could look into.

He bumped the for sale add at 2:49PM. Then edited the bumped post as sold at 4:58PM. It was still available when I posted in this thread at 2:56PM.
