1970 Cutlass Supreme tail light lense

Looking for one ( out of four) taillight lense (the Supreme has a silver ring on the face of the lense as opposed to a plain red lense). The lense and bezel are all one piece. Repos are available but big dollars. Thanks

My eMail address is caboackerman@yahoo.com I thought it was in my profile. I'm new to this forum. I don't even know how to find the post threads I've participated in. Thank God for e-mail alerts. Thanks man.

BTW, pick out the best one and take close ups if you can. Thanks

There are four styles in '70. The "silver ring" you mention is a piece of stainless attached to the face of the lense. Cutlass "S" had a silver paint on this same raised area instead of the stainless cap. I think the Supreme's got the lenses with the actual stainless insert piece on the lense.

The silver metal trim can be removed with a heat gun and reglued with epoxy to a standard lense. Jkaz

I'm still learning this site as well so I know how you feel! Thankfully everybody on here has been friendly and helpful! Must be because we all share the same "Olds" gene?! Anyhow, I'll get the photos for you tomorrow and send 'em to your email. After reading the further posts, I didn't even realize there were so many different variations on these lenses. I'll have to check for sure to see what ones I actually have.

I also didn't know so many variations were available. When I visited "The Parts Place" over in Elburn, Il, they only showed me two styles - one with no silver ring and the other with the raised silver painted ring. No stainless. I just checked my clone and verified I have the raised silver painted rings.

I'm pretty sure that the ones I have have the same raised painted silver and not the stainless. I'll get the photos off to you shortly....

Fusick shows repros of the version with the stainless trim on it in their catalog.

I may have a nice spare used on here if you are still looking...it would be the version with the stainless trim on it.

Bobac455:

Email with photos has been sent! Finally ! While I was digging through my parts, I realized that I have two styles of these lenses...the painted ring and the stainless...go figure! They've been sitting so long I forgot what I had or that there were different styles! I think I better re-educate myself on this Olds stuff!

Thanks 70Post. I have seen the name Fusick before but never checked them out. Sounds like 4-ever-olds has what I need.
