WANTED: '68-'69 Intake #398662

I need this intake to replace the original one on my '68 442 Post with a 4 speed. This car has the original 400 along with the rest of the original drive train. I am finishing up restoration and my original intake is leaking around the thermostat housing - it was heli-coiled and has some corrosion in this area as well. Looking for a solid original part without these issues - or any others!.Thanks.

I've got a couple extras here in Oregon. I'm sure there's several other members here with them as well. They are heavy so shipping will be expensive, if you can find one close by that will save you some money. What part of the country/world are you located in? Even a nearby big city and state/province will help.

I'll dig one out and get some pictures for you. Do you want to try and match the build date on your car? If so, please post the build date off the trim tag and/or the casting date on the intake your replacing.

Here's one. Since you already have the bolt on parts I'd remove them. If you want to get a price including shipping send me a PM or email with your shipping zip code and I'll work that up for you. John

My trim tag build date is 04C - 3rd week in April of '68 I think then. Where is the date code on these intakes located? Mine is still installed so can't see it if it is on the bottom side.

The date is cast into the intake on the top, drivers side, across from the choke loop. I think this intake was 141 so that would be too late. You probably want something around 100. I don't know what would be a reasonable date range for your car. Someone who does will have to speak up. I've got a couple more and will check their casting dates.

I checked and don't have one of the date range you need. Next!

Anyone else have one with a casting date correct for his car?

I'm in Washington state and have 3 of those 68/9 intakes. I'll check the dates this weekend.
