'64 Cutlass Convertible front passenger door regulator needed

'64 Cutlass Convertible front passenger door regulator needed.

I have had a hard time finding one, I posted on another thead the issues I am having here they are

My '64 Cutlass needs a passenger side front window regulator. (manual)
I called every aftermarket place and they only all have the from '66 on.
Can't find any part numbers, so didn't know if the '66 will fit the '64.
I found a guy on ebay who had one he said would fit but I brought it to
the window guy and he showed me that the stem where the window crank
handle goes is shorter on the replacement. The replacement is a little over
3/4" long (26/32") the one in the car is about an inch an quarter (1 1/4") So close to a half inch difference.
I then went to a place that had a new one from '66-'67 and it was the same short stem one
I already had.

Anyone have any info, I am stuck here.

Obviously you've already expanded your search to include other model years -- I'm actually kind of surprised that the '66 won't work. I'm sure you've already considered this but if you haven't, I bet any 64-5 A-body regulator would do the trick.

Do you know if they are the same for a Convertible and hard top?

If a 37 is a hard top then, yes.

I've got a set of doors complete. I can check to see if the passenger regulator is in good shape. They are off a 1964 Cutlass.

Here's one I removed from a 1964 Cutlass 2 door hardtop. The shaft is about 3/4" long. I'm wondering if yours had been swapped out some time in the past? I know the post car has differences, but if the convertible and hardtop are suppose to be the same you might try putting it together and see how it works. John

John,
Hi,
Thanks for the pic. That is what I was beginning to think, that it was swapped out sometime in the past because everything I have seen shows the one that matches yours and my replacement. I will try having it put in and see if it works.
Thanks Again
Rick

There is a window / door parts specialist in New Jersey. “Regulator Roy”. Probably not the cheapest but am guessing he could help you.
I have some clean first generation A passenger side stuff, but they are from an ‘66 el Camino and will be different.
Good luck with the search - Dave S

I brought the car to the glass guy and told him I think I had the right one, he put it in and it works.
So the issue was the one in the car was not the original and different.
I asked the guy to see if he could help with the wind noise and he told me I need new weather stripping that goes
between the vent window and door jam (back of windshield)
I'm not sure if the name of the part but I will put up a post to try to find out
but here is the pics.
Thanks for everyone's help

What is this called and where can I get it?

He also said there should be rubber along this metal piece.
