WTB '68 Inner Fender Panels - Locally sourced preferred
Hi, I'm looking for a R/L pair of inner fender wells to fit a 1968 4-4-2. They will be modified, so they don't have to be perfect. Blemishes that can be repaired or minimized are fine. I'm in the Denver area and would rather not pay shipping on these. Anybody in the Colorado region with a set?
TIA!
TIA!
Thanks, Scrappie! I'll keep you in mind, along with Jolly. I'm not in a rush and will hold out a bit longer to see if any local pieces turn up.
Jon, in the end you are probably correct. I just am wary about how those big plastic pieces can be successfully shipped, and at what cost. They may fit in a "wardrobe" moving box - Hmmm. Hindsight being what it is, I should have measured the current set while I had them out of the car for refinishing a few years back.
Thanks for asking, Jon. After cooling/shrinking the carrier in my deep freezer over the past week, the carrier and gears test-fit well. I'm planning to de-bur (sp?) and clean everything, then install the RG to the carrier this weekend. I've been crazy busy the past couple weeks rebuilding a deck at a house we are trying to sell, so I've not yet had time to assemble the whole axle . I'm hoping to finish the deck this weekend, then can spend time in my garage working on my axle, and other general 4-4-2 efforts (this is/was the last "major" item on the list). The 671 carrier (Thanks 11971four4two!) for my after market Richmond gear set is in great shape, with plenty of grip left on the clutch rings. I'll be posting up some pics of the RG installation, and subsequent install to the car in the not-too-distant future.
Thanks again, guys!
