Ah the holy grail... I've been looking for one for almost a year. Ended up buying one from supercarsunlimited.com they claim is a direct replacement (except the vacuum nipple is straight). Try this link...

Has anyone used one of these repro cans and checked to see if it actually works as advertised? I guess if it's close it would be ok, but nothing beats original GM stuff IMO when it comes to things like this.
EDIT: Derp! I missed the part where it said you bought one. Does it work as it should?
I have one now that works on the 973 distributor and a spare can that leaks. The working one doesn't look pretty, but it works. If I could find a place that rebuilds them with a new diaphragm it would be nice to get the spare redone. Just in case.

I agree, original is best.
We put the repro on a vacuum gauge and it does register and hold at 16. I haven't had the car running with it installed yet.
I opened my original 427 and found a 1/4" tear in the diaphragm. Wonder if I can canabalize the new one for its diaphragm assembly...

I don't know if it works. I just took it off the distributor I sent it out to have rebuilt. I'd have to take it to a garage and have them test it for me. I'll probably sell it if I can ever figure out what they are worth. Hence my original question in this forum. I can't seem to find any that have been sold to judge a value of it. As an appraiser, I need something to compare it to.

So do all of those have a limiter bushing or is that something that someone added? My original HEI advance can was a 24º unit and a busing similar to that cut it down to 16º.
Just wondering if the original specs are with the bushing installed or sans bushing.
I know you've probably found one but I've got one. My dad passed away last year. He and I bought an old GM Dealership Building and saved all the parts in it with plans on finally fixing his 67 442. But we ran out of time. But I no longer need it anymore. If u need it just let me know and I'll do whatever is best for u to get it.
Have a good one,
David B

Hi David, I would be interested in buying that from you. Let me know what you would want for it please.
