Is this an aluminum or cast part? Year?

I’m not sure if it aluminum or cast. It would be for a 1968 400/455 non a/c. Assembly manual shows two different part numbers for 1968 one for a/c one for non a/c not sure what the difference would be.

386129 is aluminum. It was cast in a steel mold... the surface is smooth.
