1965 400 ENGINE NEEDED
Hello all
Looking for a block, bare, short, complete, any way shape or form to replace my cracked up block.
Also considering a temporary engine while this search continues. Does anyone have something running, and cheap that will just bolt right into my 65 auto 442.
I'm the Chicago area and am in a hurry to get this car back on the road.
Thanx
Ron

craigslist 400 65 block
Sorry TK, didn't realize that it wasn't your Craigslist listing. I had responded and got pictures of the casting numbers from the back of the block, and it didn't appear to be a 400 block, and had requested him to check the front casting #. I hadn't heard back from him, and assumed he responded to my want ad.
Thanx for looking out for me.

I have 2-rebuilt 65 400 short blocks. These were rebuilt by a major rebuilder many years ago. They are on skids and wrapped in plastic. All I will do is guarantee the block to be good, not cracked. They should have new pistons.

Thanx to all
With all your help, I'm on the road again, albeit with a 330 motor, and a correct 400 in the works for next year.
I'm still learning the site, so if someone can tell me how to remove my existing ads, I'll get that done.
This pic is of the 442 coming out of the garage after sitting for 15 years. When I get it really cleaned up I'll post another.
Has anyone found something other than a universal flex hose for the upper radiator for the 65? Had to recore the radiator, and the flex hose looks real crappy.
Thanx again to all

Small tip: In case you don't know it, TK65 has a "pure" 64-65 Cutlass/442 site that probably has the most complete mass of knowledge in the membership of any site you'll find!
