61-63 Oldsmobile wheels

In search of a set of 15" stock steel wheels for my dads project '63 F85 . I'd rather not go aftermarket on this car. Let me know if you guys can help,

thanks

The 15's are tough to find. I put a wanted ad out for some early this year and a couple days later I found a parts car with them. I picked up the entire parts car but need the wheels for myself. What I am getting at is, keep your eyes out for a parts car also that has them. The Buick Special and Skylark could have had them also. I believe it is the exact same wheel as Oldsmobile, I know the lug pattern is the same.

I do have two extras that I would like to keep but if you happen to find two others and can't find any more I would consider letting them go. They have snow tires on them from the 60's that look new, lol. That is why I want to keep them. I want to get pictures of my car in the snow with them on it. I know, I am crazy...

Yeah I was talking to a guy on here last year about a set he had available. I had so many things to get for my project that I put it on the back burner. I may have blew it, I should've just pulled the trigger... I hit him up last week, but haven't heard back.

Good to know Buicks had them too, that may help. Thanks I'm still hopeful.

Oh and I love the idea of the 60s snow tire photo op! that would be cool

In 62, 13 was standard and 15 were optional. in 63, 13 was standard and 14 or 15 was optional. This is for the f-85, Cutlass, and Jetfire.

If I let two go it would be two from my parts car. Let me know if you find two of them and we can work something out for two of mine.

Here is a picture of the snow tires that were in the trunk when we got the car. The other tire is the original spare tire from 1962. This car was parked in 1974 till 2015

Sorry to "hijack" your thread OP but I'm curious about the bolt pattern on the F-85. Its not 5 on 5 I'm sure, is it even 5 lug?

The reason I'm asking I wasn't aware that 15s were optional on the F-85 but what about the 88 series? 14's were standard on everything that I've read but my car has 15" rims and '61 poverty caps fit. Were 15's optional on the 88/98 line? Heavy duty/Police maybe?

Well, I am still looking for a couple 15" wheels. Unfortunately 2 of the wheels I got were in really poor shape. I will see if I can find someone to replace the rim, but it maybe cheaper to find 2 more.

I was talking to a guy today that said he had lots of wheels for these cars. I had ask if he had any 15's. He said he did not think so. I am hoping to be picking up a 62 from him next Saturday and he said we can look around and see if we can find any. If I come up with any I will let you know

While I understand what the OP is looking to find, I do not believe 15" rims were stock for Oldsmobile in that time frame. My full-size Dymanic 88 came stock with 14" rims/tires. I cannot imagine the F85 having larger wheels/tires?

Standard tire size for 1963 Oldsmobile F-85 Cutlass Convertible 195 4-speed:
(in case of different tires in front and rear the dimensional data are valid for driving or rear wheels)

Standard tire size: 6.50 - 13
Tire width (mm): 165
Tire sidewall factor: 80
Rim size (in): 13
Total wheel diameter (mm / in): 594 / 23.4

The 15" wheels and tires were an option in 1961 or 1962 on these cars, for sure. I knew of a car with them and thought it was odd at the time. They were ordered for "snow clearance", back in the day.

Here is a picture of a 62 Jetfire in 1962 with the original 15's.
The 13's were standard and the 15's were optional. In 1963 you could get 13's 14's or 15's

The thing about the 15" wheels is, IMO you have to find the trim rings to go with them. 15" with dog dish and whitewall doesn't cut it. You need the trim ring to pull it off and that's not easy I hear.

The trim rings are for sure hard to find.

I have 5 of these 15 inch wheels but only 2 of them are very good. The others have to much pitting on them. If you are still looking for two of them let me know

I would need to get you pictures but I sell them for $75 a wheel for the 15 inch 4 lug in this condition. If they were better I get $100 each but I am out of nice ones. It is best if I send pictures to an email but I could add them here later today.

I have some. They've been outside for 50 some years, but they are straight.

Here are some pictures. Some of them are NOS with surface rust. Others are a bit more shall we say challenged? But none are so deeply pitted as to make them unusable.
