1970 Cutlass AC Kickdown Solenoid

I am looking for a Kick down solenoid for my 1970 CS with 350 with bracket. If anyone has one to spare would like to purchase from you, thanks!

I have a 1970 CS Parts car with a 71 350 that has A/C, what exactly does a kick down solenoid look like?

I have this one that was bolted to the front of a 7042250, if you still need one.

Did those come from the factory on 70s? My 70 Supreme 350-4 bbl didn't have one of those, and my dad bought it in 77 from the original owner so I don't think anything had been removed from it.

I was thinking the same thing Kenneth. The 70 455 has just a dash pot, I had a 70
Cutlass S 350 years ago and I believe it had a dash pot as well. The 7042250 keys
out to be for a 72-74 350 carb also.

The part shown above is an "idle stop solenoid". They were first installed on '71 models to prevent the engine from "dieseling" or running on. The engines were run so lean and idled so high, that when you shut the key off, the engine would continue "running". If the "curb idle" was lowered, using the idle screw, the engine wouldn't stay running with the a/c on. We use to set the idle screw so that the engine would just barely run at idle, in neutral, with the a/c off; then plug in the idle solenoid and set the idle speed in drive with a/c and parking brake on.

I think this was the case on the newer cars but did not think that was correct in the early ones. That solenoid is only energized when the A/C is on. What you are describing requires the solenoid to be energized all the time the car is running. These only bumped up the idle a little while the A/C was on I thought. Am I wrong on this? I am not an expert at all on this so I would like to learn more.
