Want to buy a speedo cable to a 1966 Olds Dynamic 88. Original number is 6454859 or CC275.

Yes thats correct. It dont need to be that particular number as long as the cable works for the car.

 

i believe up to 1970 works.i know i have one but if i have two i would sell one.i'm still driving a 66 dynamic

 

The 69-70 cables have a speedo end designed for the snap-in fitting and won't work on the 65-68 cars with the screw-on fitting.

 

does this mean just the case is different ? cable is the same?

 

Yes, the square flex cable is the same for 1965-1970 (of course, cars with cruise use different cables from cars without cruise). The outer sheath is different 65-68 and 69-70. Generic flex cable is readily available. Just cut it to length. The outer sheath is unobtanium.
