IIRC pretty much ALL the trans cross members for 70-72 and maybe even 68-72 had those double humps. The 77 had a TH350 didn't it? Should fit ok

The '73-'77 crossmembers don't interchange with the earlier ones. In '75 the catalytic convertor necessitated a crossmember with only one huge hump on the passenger's side to clear the convertor. He needs a '73-'74 crossmember.

Would it make any difference if he was planning to run with no cats? Or are you saying the trans mount itself will not bolt up to the frame rails?

The frames are dimensionally different. I used a '68-'72 crossmember in my '85 Cutlass with a T-350, but I had to shorten it on each end and weld on new mounting brackets, as well as, modify the left side hump to clear the floor. Now you can buy them ready to bolt in.
