WTB 69 442 front license plate frame

Any CO members have a front license plate frame? Unfortunately a front tag is required in Virginia.

I'm thinking in 1969 the A-body front plate bolted right to the bumper. So you need a frame, like the old dealership frames that went around the plate?

All 1969 front bumpers came with the two upper holes drilled (red arrows). Cars needing front plates got the lower bracket added, but you don't actually need it to hang a front plate on the car. The bracket is reproduced and available from all the Olds repro vendors.

I believe even some dealers didn't use the lower bracket for front license plate installation. My '68 had the dimples drilled for the lower bracket (Lansing car originally licensed in Oregon) but my '69 did not (Fremont car originally licensed in California). I just use the top two attachment point for both of my cars as it seems to me the lower bracket is a wasted effort.

I looked it up. There are still about 30 states, well more than half, that require a front plate. Ohio very recently became a one-plate state. They've long been a one-plate state if you put a year-of-manufacture plate on your old car.

That's it - the front license plate bracket. Are the holes drilled out on your front bumper or are there just dimples there?
