Have you tried looking on eBay?

Yes. There is one, but it's a little pricey I think.

If you haven't purchased a shop manual I would recommend that. For anybody with an old car, it is one of the first things you should buy. They are usually on ebay and the prices can vary a lot. Get one of the original and not a reproductioin on. It is the best money you can spend.

I have two shop manuals. One for the shop and one for the house. I also have a mid 30's to 1958 set of chassis and body Master parts catalogues. I also have a 1942 to 1956 parts catalogue. The only books I am missing are the owner's manual and the Hydramatic manual I believe.

You said you wanted an owner's manual. You didn't say you wanted a "cheap" owner's manual.

I do not know how you define "pricey"? Just a few minutes ago I found 8 1953 Oldsmobile Owner Manuals (originals and reprints) on ebay starting at $20.

And yes, it also has shop manuals for the car.

GaWajn,

I was only trying to be of help, not mean/nasty. I thought perhaps you did not see the owner manuals that I saw. I would be the first to agree that $50 is indeed "pricey." At the same time, $20 is 60% cheaper.

You state, "I have no intentions of buying a manual off ebay, unless I have no other choice." -

Some folk (me included) buy quite a lot of car stuff off of ebay.

I see that the Fusick repro owner manual goes for the same as on ebay, $20, so depending on shipping costs, that is a good way to go, too.

Yes, I did see that you have 2 shop manuals.

Again, just trying to help. Sorry if I rubbed you the wrong way. Good luck in getting that owner manual.

No harm no foul. My bad I guess, and thanks for the help, I appreciate it. I deleted my above post because it served no real purpose, it was just a misunderstanding on my part.
