WTB 1970 Master Cylinder

Clean unit. Rectangular with bleeder valves. Casting number 5470409, "EB" on front machined surface. Prefer date for late 1969 built car, i.e. high 200's to low 300's.

Thanks.

I have one that is 318 but can't let it go yet. I need to take the original one on my car apart and rebuild it first. With my luck, If i let this one go I would find that mine is bad. It may be a couple weeks till I know so if someone else has one jump in.

Thanks for sharing that, please keep me in mind as 318 would be a good date for me. I'd be interested in knowing how many people here find they require a sleeving of their master cylinder when they rebuild. In my limited experience I have not had to do so. Good luck.

I have 3 or 4 of the originals, I'll try to check the numbers on them this weekend.

Brian,
Here are a couple I've found so far. The last number in the date code is hard to read on both of them, but they both look like 33? numbers to me?
Take a look & let me know?

I see what you mean--hard to read. The one that's painted might be 138? Are the "EB" stamps on the front machined surface legible?

Thanks.

I'm in good shape for cover, I found a couple of new ones years ago. Thanks very much Dave.

I'm still looking for a master cylinder, however.

Briane, its in a Delco Remy sealed bag and there was a paper on it with the part # and all the information I cant find it but it its for a 70 because back when I had the car I was buying nothing but NOS for it.

I haven't gotten my parts out yet,but I found some notes from last time I did this, and the dates I have written are 195,285,and 314. Now I just need to see if I still have them.
5470409. With 1 1/8 cast into them designating bore size.

I hope to take mine apart today or tomorrow and see what it looks like. If I don't get side tracked with other stuff... If mine is good I will let my extra one go.

I'll cross my fingers that you do have two good ones.

What are you using for a rebuild kit? I have a bunch of NOS kits for this casting when it's used with a power booster but I think it's a different kit for manual disc brakes. I have to check.

Thanks.
