want to convert my rustfree 98 coupe into a convertible

 

It'd be cheaper to sell yours, and find a rust-free convert!
Sooooooooo many things are different, it woudn't be cost effective!
Frame, top, interior, wiring, suspension - to name a few!

 

I would say forget it. They never turn out right....anyway if, (big if) ya could find a 98 conv parts car ya might as well fix that one up. Would be less work than choppin a hardtop no matter what the condition it is in.
