WANTED - Rear Tail Panel 70-72 Cutlass 442

Hello everyone. I'm new here to the forums and I need a little help. I'm restoring my 71 Olds 442 and I need a rear tail panel. I got one out of a junk yard but it turns out it was from a Cutlass Supreme which has a small tail panel than a 2 door Cutlass. So, does anyone out there have a 70-72 Cutlass/442 tail panel in decent condition or know where I can find one?

PM me.

Matt

Matt, welcome to the site! Please post where your located or at least the state/province and nearest large city. Then a few more details on what you need. Is it the entire rear part of the car quarter panels and trunk, or just the trim strip that runs along the trunk lid. If you can post pictures of your car showing the part you need that can help too. John

Thank you for the advice John! I live in Roselle which is a suburb of Chicago. I need the entire rear panel. This is the panel that connects to the length of the trunk floor and both the rear quarters. It's hidden behind the rear bumper. I'll get a few pictures of the piece and post them here in a bit.

Thanks!

Matt

Hi Matt
I've probably got that, but I'm way out in Oregon. Check with Eric, jensenracing77 as I know he's got lots of spare parts and is in your part of the country. If he doesn't have a decent panel you might check with Jeremy, J-(Chicago), Jeremy's got newer cars but may know someone that can help. If you can't find something decent at a reasonable price get back to me. But I'm thinking shipping would add $$ to the parts I have. John

Thanks again John! I'll check in with both Eric and Jeremy. For everyone else, here is a picture of the rear panel I need, GM part #9826540.

Sounds good. I'm in a bit of a jam at the moment. I completely tore out my rusted rear panel this weekend only to find the replacement panel I have doesn't fit. I cut this newer rear panel out of what I thought was a cutlass a while back in a junk yard. Now I have to put a hold on replacing the rear fender until I install this panel. Oh well...
