I posted this thread a couple months ago. May want to check with him and see if he still has the hood. You also can try to get one from Thornton's but that is going to take a while to get one of his.

Dan,that is the only way I know how to get in touch with him. I called my friend who bought the core support from the guy and he doesnt have his # anymore. I bought my hood from Thornton's but it takes a long time to get one of those hoods. Trying to find a OAI hood is good shape is going to be very difficult. I have read where some of the originals have stress cracks and some require a lot of work. take a look of my hood. I did not have to do anything to the hood but block it and paint it.

i have a near mint hood thats been hanging in a garage for 15 years, its 1 of the cleanest OAIs ive ever seen!!!! i just finished painting the frame satin black and im going 2 block the top 3 times so its ready for paint, i was given a deposit allready but if the guy dosnt come up with the money by feb21st when he said hell have his tax money ill sell it

What does a thorton hood go for, shipped?

 

it cost a little over 2600.00 shipped to my house and it was very well packaged.

 

I spoke with Troy Thornton in the fall about one of the hoods when I had my accident with my "72, and he told me that he was in the process of having the tooling redone, and didn't have any timetable for when he'd by making them again. Have you found out new info?

 

Troy has had 3 different generations of these hoods,and he is in the process of a 4th.It takes a lot of time,and thousands of dollars to get something like this going.Last time I talked with him,he was on the fence about bothering with them again,but I did get a note from him saying that the are coming back again soon,so we'll see.Not sure how much the ones will be though.
