Wanted 71 442 4 speed shifter handle

I'll take one with the 442 numbers or just an "H"

Dave, In 1971 there were two different handles, one for a console aplication and one for a non console. Neither had '442' on them. Console application has 7169 stamped on it and non console is 7305. Hope that helps in your search.

I have made correct 70-72 console handles, with the "442" on them. I started with a 67-69 442 shifter handle, and duplicated all of the correct bends & curves of the 70-72 handle,heat-treated,and rechromed. The "H" is hidden under the console boot, and the "442" is about 1" above the console boot.I'll post pictures tomorrow.

I have a non console car. I was going to drill the base of the handle for it to fit a newer Hurst shifter. I'm not too worried about it being the correct year but I wouldn't pass one up. I do have an old 442 handle I could get rechromed. I never thought of that. I would like the see the pics of Brians shifter.

The newer/different Hurst shifter does not have the angled reciever for the stick, like the 70-72 has. If you have the shifter that you are going to use,I could put the correct offset to one of those 67-69 442 shifters. You don't need as much,if it is a non-console or bench seat application. You still want it to come up through the hump & boot in the correct location.
I also have a few different Hurst shifters, with the stops, for stuff like this.I have shifters with offsests, for straight sticks.

Here's a picture of a complete 4-spd shifter/handle assembly, for a console car.I placed a separate reciever piece next to it to show the angle of it.The rechromed 442 handle is a duplicate of the original handle.I'll post more pictures to show the handle comparisons.

Here's another picture, showing them next to each other.I made all the bends & contours exact.

Brian,
I lost track of this thread. I see you do nice work. The pics helped me to understand why my shifter ended up a liitle too close to my leg. I'll give you a call soon.
Thanks again.
