Wanted 68 am fm radio and multiplex
#2
I am not sure if this is 68 and not sure if it is big car or Cutlass. Can you tell in this picture if it is what you are looking for? It is a picture I already had on my computer. I will get you better pictures if you need them.

That looks like a 68 to me. Not sure if it's full size or not. Is there an Identification sticker on the radio case? I can look it up. How much and do you know if it worked? Al

Would the radio be the same? I did just find this sticker on the inside cover but not sure if it is the sticker you need. Someone also marked in marked 1967?
Also, Would a 69 Cutlass radio be the same as 68? I have a two piece stereo radio that I am told is from a 69 Cutlass.

According to that site, looks like the numbers should be
7303153 68 Oldsmobile AM/FM~Stereo
7303173 68 Oldsmobile AM/FM-WB
(& since they don't differentiate A,B,C body except for Toro, you're probably right about them being the same across bodies)

Look at the heat sink (that metal grill work) attached to side of the radio. The difference between A body radios and B/C body radios is that the heat sinks are on the opposite sides - driver side for A bodies and passenger side for B/C bodies. If someone was industrious, they could probably shift the heat sink around and make it work. Otherwise, it won't fit.

I just tested it. I got it to play music on the rear speaker only and it was not a quality sound. I have another multiplex unit from a 70 big car I plugged it into and the quality was great but still only the back speaker. Both parts would for sure have to be sent in to be serviced if you want it because I can't let go of the 70 multiplex unit. Another thing I just noticed is that both sides have the base/tone control ****. No front back speaker ****. If you want it I would do $100 and shipping. I have no idea the best way to send it to Vancouver or how much it would be.
Give it a little more time, someone with a good one that don't need service may jump in.

'68 Cutlass did not have a stereo radio (7302023 AM/FM), only full size cars. '69 Cutlass did offer a stereo radio (93AFM1 or 93AFM2 stereo and 93AFP1 mono). '69 was the first year to code the radio models with the first digit being the year, second digit is '3' Oldsmobile. A '70 radio would be 03XXXX. The multi-plex unit must be matched to the receiver.
