Question WANTED - "1973 Oldsmobile Dealer Album / Book"...

I am looking for a 1973 Oldsmobile Dealer Album. It should be 52 Pages. I seen 3 different ones on eBay but they are very costly.

Please Advise...

Thanks,

Pat

Dealer Albums will be costly. The one I have for my 72 cost me over $200.00 but it's way more than 58 pages - closer to 250

Are you sure you're not describing the Oldsmobile Product Guide? Looks like this:

Allan,

What you show above I already have. I have looked at 3 different Albums on eBay, they ranged between $199 and $249, it stated that they were 52 Pages, but it did show Paint, Vinyl Top, Interior and Etc., Samples. See Below:

Thanks,

Pat

Allan,

They also have this one listed. This one has 156 Pages. See Below:

What is the major difference?

Thanks,

Pat

There's some history about these binders you should know. The binder cover on the one linked to this post is actually from 1972. When the 1973 model year rolled around, Olds got stingy with their distribution of materials and sent the dealerships only the 'guts' of the binder. The content of the 1972 information was to be removed and thrown away. My 1972 binder is exactly the same as this embossed one, but is 184 pages not including the trailering information. The paint colors and stripes are located under a flap on the inside of that front cover. The fabric swatches you see on those color plates are the exact fabric that was used for the interior upholstery.

You're in the same boat I was when I was buying the 1972 Oldsmobile Technical Bulletins and Service Guild binders. I had to buy 2 copies to get a full set. Documents are getting harder to come by and when they do show up, they're not cheap.

Allan,

So what is your opinion on the 2nd one? What will this one show compared to the 1st one?

Please Advise...

Thanks,

Pat

Pat, I have no idea what's behind door number 2. This is a conversation you need to have with the seller. Ask for some pics. When I bought mine there were at least 10 pictures on the eBay listing showing the binder, condition and some of the contents. The second binder cover looks like the one from 1971

The first binder with the padded embossed cover is the "pretty" one. It has the exterior color samples, interior color swatches, stripe colors and vinyl and convertible top colors. It'll tell you what colors are compatible, and I think there are two pages of options in the back with color pictures. The other book with the flat cover is the specifications binder. It'll tell you everything you want to know about every model. Specs, optional equipment, etc. There will be no color pictures in this one, and no prices. I'm pretty sure I've a set that includes both, if you're interested.
