Wanted, 1968-72 convertible frame, chassis, not top frame.

I've got a friend here in Indianapolis that is almost done with the restoration of his 1968 Cutlass convertible only to discover that his frame has been damaged in the front & rear. So he is wanting another complete frame, minus suspension parts. I told him I'd put up a post & see what happens.
Thanks.
Scott

Since he already has a conv frame, I would look for a HT frame and cut out the box pieces from the conv frame and add them to the HT frame. To do so he will need to remove from the HT frame the small braces in the center of the side rails. He'll end up with a conv frame, almost identical to an original, for a fraction of the cost. If his boxing pieces are not good, then look for a 69-72 Pontiac GP as they have boxed frames and the boxing pieces are the same as the A Body cars.

Brian,
Good point, I should have thought of that. With that being said, I guess we're looking for a convertible or hardtop frame now.
Thanks.

Scott,

I rembered seeing this several weeks ago and I thought his price was more than fair. He's in Erie IIRC so the distance may not be too bad if it's still available.

Scott,if you convert a hardtop frame, you should have one under one of your parts cars.
