W25 original hood screen

My W25 hood screen has a hole right in the center right above were the vacuum motor for the air cleaner is mounted. I purchased a repop screen but it is thinner. The rest of my screen is fine so I am looking for a 6/6 inch or larger piece of screen I could splice in. If anyone has a W25 hood that is damaged or a section of screen please let me know. Or does anybody have a complete screen? If so please PM me with price.

Thanks,

I call ASC@P a few months ago and they said they don't have any in stock anymore.

Thanks,

Can I suggest you use 'wire mesh' in a web browser? I did and came up with lots of hits. ex: http://www.bwire.com/?gclid=CNaKifHmhacCFQTNKgodDzMqgA . Rather than just splice in a patch, you could replace the whole screen for a clean look. If I remember right, the mesh is tack welded on. Should be easy enough to break the beads and install a new screen. Far as I know, you can specify the gage of the screen you want to the supplier. Only thing I don't know is how small a piece you can get. Good luck with your repair.

Thanks Allen,

I appreciate the info and web link. I would really like to replace the whole screen but I been looking for about 6 months and cannot find one complete. If somebody came up with a complete one not damage that would be awesome and I would make them a respectable offer. I will measure mine and contact this company and see what they say. Thanks again for you help.

If you are trying to retain the factory look then buying some mesh and replacing the whole screen isn't an option...you'll never be able to accurately get all the contours pressed into the new screen.

But---if you can find the correct guage screen in sheets/rolls---your next call should be to Thornton to see if you can send it to him and have him stamp the screen so it's formed right (I'm assuming he has the equipment at his place to stamp the screen....don't know if he does).

Still---a nice used original screen or a good piece of original is the way to go if you can find it.
