I'm in search of a cheap 455 anything from bare block to full engine I'm wanting a good engine to build on preferably In il

There are a few on craigslist,in your area, some T-400's. A couple of the 455's are a little pricey.
Just have to keep your eyes out, a good one will come up.

the lowest ive seen was 1500 and it needed rebuilt

I have a friend that has approx. 150 Olds Big Block engines. Some are apart and many are complete, untouched and sealed. Various years exist (1966 - 1974) and many are untouched sitting on pallets waiting for a good home. The bulk of them have never been re-bored and have come out of Delta's, 442's and Cutlass bodies. Alternatively, if you just need a block, crank, rods or a set of heads, these can also be acquired for a fair price. Please feel free to contact my friend Dennis at 705-456-2806. I know of one in north Atlanta for $150 I think. He's retiring and wants it out. Shipping to Illinois would probably be around $200 business to business.

I have a complete 1968 that the heads and intake are off a complete 1970 that the heads and intake are off and a 1972 short block. Take 400 for the complete ones and 200 for the long block.
