Rear seat frame 71 Cutlass

I'm looking for rear seat or seat frame from 71 Cutlass S Post. Frame goes from quarter panel to quarter panel no armrest.

I have one from a '71 Cutlass Supreme that needs recovering . Will that fit? I know the convertibles are shorter.

Do you have one that just needs replaced, or do you have nothing at all? I've got a rotten one that might help you with measurements if you have nothing at all.

Its wider then your Supreme by about 5-6 inches, yours is the same as the 70-72 Chevelles and Cutlass S Hardtop. 2 door sedans(post) are by by themselves.

What is it about the post coupe that makes it wider? Are there no arm rests? thanks

I believe the convert has the arm rests in the back upper seat that makes it not as wide as the hardtop

Correct, just like the 64-67. I had a customer who couldn't find the wider post seat, he ended up buying the arm rest and filler piece above it and used it with the coupe seat. It looked good

I have nothing at all. Can you please tell me the measurements so I have a better understanding what is needed? Thanks!

Do you have pictures of how that looked?

Hi Rodney, I'm waiting to see how the filler piece and setup looked. I might be interested. Thanks

OK, here's some pictures with measurements. If you need to see anything else or have another measurement taken let me know. These came out of a 1970 F85 post car. John

Seat Back overview

Width of the seatback bottom, where it attached to the floorboard

Width of seatback on the top, up near the package tray

Note how the bottom is kicked out wider

Another view of the bottom kicked out wider

And one more of the seatback side kicked out

Whoops! Wrong photo, I deleted it.

Just to keep the pictures from getting mixed up, here's the back seat, seat bottom.

Overview of seat bottom

Seat frame looks pretty good on this end

Seat frame is mostly gone at this end.

Width at the front where your knees are at when sitting down

Width at the back, just before the necked down part that fits under the seat back

Overview

The bottom of the seat appears to be wider than the top?

This is the end where the frame is rotted away.

I still have the Cutlass Supreme that my back seat came out of so if you want the arm rests too I'm pretty sure it would all fit your car. The Supreme interior parts would technically be incorrect if you're concerned about originality. One more thing to check out, the Supreme & the post cars were different body styles. I'm not sure how well the Supreme armrests would fit the upper door panels but I'm willing to take a few measurements for you if want to give it a try. And, I'm in Houston!
