There should be a thread here showing the diffs
The HD-cooling one has two rounded arcs formed into the top center.

I probably have a spare std-cooling one.

I'm flexible. Car came with AC yet is a standard 400, automatic with freeway gears. Top plate was missing when I purchased car- I'm open to 3 or 4 row….as long as it's correct for '68 442 that's as close as I need to get.
The motor will be completely stock and driven easy with a burn out here and there as needed to relieve stress.
Thanks

you should probably jump on that
I can't even drive out to the remote site for under $20
So, my part would have to be like $50 to make it worth my while
and, with the ice/ snow/ rain/ flooding, it'd take me weeks to get to it now.

allyolds68 is a certified Great Supplier, so no worries there.

lower '68 4-row plate looks right to me
Is the center really offset like that? Never noticed.

The top photo, with that squared off protrusion on the top center aft surface- are you sure that is a '68 item?
I guess so:

Found a few of the file photos

The top one is the same as the one you have a pic of (your third pic).

The bottom is a "recreation" from a 67 top plate. The saddles are 2 row on it and it's still taking some tweaking to get it to fit my single row aluminum radiator. I haven't gotten it to fit quite right yet. The fan shroud gets pushed too close to my fan when I use it. I've got to either use a slightly smaller fan spacer or shim the fan shroud a little forward. The latter will require slotting the holes in the top plate. I'd prefer not to do that as it will not "appear" to be a real 4 core.

I've pretty much convinced myself that a 68 4 core top plate is just a 66-67 with larger saddles, a cope out of the front passenger side, a couple extra holes in it, and a spot welded hose clamp on the top. The "extra holes" you have with the ??? marks are the revised holes to fit the 68 fan shroud.

Thumbs up

Thank you both {Mike & Chris}. Very much appreciated as the WAC site's [excellent] Oldsmobile resource lists the numbers but not pic's of all variants. Brett
