PNW Need a BOP THM 350 to replace the THM 250C
Yep it is officially time to find a THM 350 for BOP, short shaft. I don't have one. The yards are empty, the tranny shops look at me like I speak a different language and this is holding me up. The THM 250 C cannot handle the horses I built and I don't even want to put it in because of all the cautions I've been given. Beside, the damn TC will not seat! If you know of one or someone who might be willing to part with one, please direct me to them or them to me. I am not desperate yet but it is coming up on it. One guy tried to sell me a THM 200 as a THM 350, but the big "METRIC" across the pan gave it away! Any other ideas would be appreciated too, like can a 250C be beefed up. With the high rearend in mine, I am not sure I need a lockup TC but a 350C would be better than a 200 or 250 or 250C! I don't think I want to have all the new parts required to go to a TH 400...so it comes down to BOP...What say you?

Chuck:
I have a good core from a '71 Cutlass Supreme that would need a rebuild . . . but I'm in Houston, TX. Not sure what the shipping would be. It's still in the car so don't really have any pics to show you.

Thanks Rodney. I appreciate the thought, I am actually looking at a good prospect this evening that is only 15 miles away. I just had to pay $54 to ship a fan shroud so I can't imagine what a transmission would cost What are you going to do with the 71 CS?

I considered keeping it until I was ready to for another restoration project, but my current project is taking so long that the prospect of doing another is not very appealing at the moment. Eventually I will probably part it out as there are lots of good (Texas car) parts, but for the moment I need to focus my time on finishing my convertible project. Good luck with your transmission hunt!
