Pistons for 425 bored .040

Mainly for cutlassefi. My son wants to replace the deep dish pistons in his 425. It is bored .040 and has been on the stand since 1986, never completed and run. He wants flat top forged or whatever would be best for a street 425. Stock Toronado cam, Toro "B" heads, iron "J" Q-jet intake. What ring combo is best also.

Short of the old Egge style pistons your only outlet would be custom. With that you can put any ring pack you like on it.

Dick Miller has 0.060" over 425 Diamond Pistons if you want to bore your block.

Related to your PM to me. The bores measure from a small of 4.1694 to 4.1712. If your pistons are 4.165 would this clearance be OK with the forged pistons.

You might want to check them with a torque plate installed.
