You might also try a Private Message (PM) to Brian, 507OLDS as he's in Erie PA. If he doesn't have the extra sheetmetal he may have some leads to others that do. I've got the hood and core support but shipping from Oregon would likely double the purchase price! John

i have a hood in albany ny. it has almost no rust on and is in excellent condition. i dont know if its a flathood though. ill look to see if i have pictures if your interested. i think i have a pair of 70 cutlass grills as well.

i dont think this is a flat hood but heres a pic of it. i have more if you want. the grills i have are not good the one is basiclly trash and the other is missing a small piece on the bottom.

 

Just to let you know there were at least two different metal hoods used in 1970. One looks the same as the one on my 1969 442 but with the 1970 latch setup and hood tooth. It doesn't have a rib running down the center of the hood and there are two wide raised humps on each side of the hood. That's what 1970_442 has offered. Then the other has the vents near the windshield stamped into the hood skin rather than inserts bolted in. The raised humps are much less pronounced and it has a more pronounced ridge running down the center of the hood. I've got one of each leaning up against the shed, I tried to take a couple photos of them. The dark blue with badly checked paint is like 1970_442's. Then under it is a light blue one with moss growing on it that is the second one I described. I still think it's too expensive to ship one of these to you, but wanted to give you the information about the two different ones I know of. John

thanks for the info john that would help explain the hood that came on my supreme. i have the hood grills, rear trim, and i think i have tooth asell for that hood.

 

Thanks for the info, mine is like the bottom/white hood. It has a crome strip down the center. Will the other style fit my car?

All the hoods will fit your car as the latches and hinges are the same. The blue double-hump hood is the standard (non-ram air) 442 hood and was also the hood used on the Cutlass S models. The White (mossy) hood was used on Supremes and had the chrome strip down the center (Since all Cutlass Convertibles, except 442, were Supremes and not "S" models, they would have the white hood with chrome strip). The same white hood was also used on 4 doors (and maybe wagons?) but did not have the chrome strip.

What would I need to do to fit a 71-72 double-hump hood on my car?

 

I have the Cutlass 'S'/442 double-hump/flat hood.I know it wasn't flawless,but I didn't want to toss it.It is definitely usable,or I would have trashed it.I will look at it later today.
To better undertand,the 70 Supremes & Supreme convertibles had a flat hood,with the centet flush with the rest of the surface,and those had the long chrome spear running down the center.The non-OAI 442's and Cutlass 'S' cars came with the "double-hump" hoods that has the center slightly reccessed,and removable louvers in the back.I think the F85's also had this.
I have 4 core supports that are currently getting blasted,so I will see what I have when I get them back.They are all pretty nice.Some have the typical pitting under the battery,but no holes.I am always on the quest for the flawless parts,and I recently purchased an NOS one with the GM sticker still intact,so I can sell one of my others.
As for the grilles,I would just buy the new repop supreme grilles.They are nice.
If you need a radiator,I have some nice replacements that were not used very long.They aren't the original Harrisons,but the fit & function is correct.

OK.I stopped & looked at my flat 70 hood.It is good & solid.Some scale here & there,but NO holes or rot,and will clean-up fine. $50.00

There is no "double hump hood" for 1971-1972 Cutlass, its commonly referred to as the OAI (outside air intake) or Ram Air hood. Using this hood would require the change of the complete front clip (sans the fenders) as none of these particular parts interchange with a 1970.
