Question Olds Stamped Valve Covers

Valve covers are the same, small block or big block; unless you're looking for the notched ones. Later ones have an embossed "OLDSMOBILE" on them. Which ones do you prefer?

When you refer to the notched covers are you referring to the scalloped edges?. I would prefer the covers with the oldsmobile embossing, I think they were produced for just a few years around 1970. Thanks for your help.

valve covers

The notched covers were used on big blocks to clear the brake booster and a/c evaporator case on the firewall. They had a relief stamped in the rear outer corners. The embossed covers came out in the mid '70s and were used for the duration of the 350, if I remember correctly. I recently sold some embossed ones; I'll check to see if I have any more.

I don't need the notched covers or the EGR for my application. Were the covers only embossed on the drivers side cause the AC covered the passenger side and olds did not use the embossed on the passenger side?

The embossed valve covers were on both sides and started in 1973. I know they were used in 1974 but am not sure beyond that.
