Yes,the 70-72 4-doors use the same trunklid, with the rounded upper corners. What most strict restorers don't like, are the extra drilled holes that some of them have.If you can get one from a 70 4-door,or a 70-72 F85 4-door,those have the least amount of holes. The 71-72 have the OLDSMOBILE bar emblem along the bottom, which has five 1/4" drilled holes.

Where did you get the NOS Quarters and if you would.....what did you end up paying for them. I got the full 1/4's from goodmark and there a pretty good fit so far but still working on the inner wheelhouse from Fusick and outer wheelhouse and trunk from Yearone. waiting on tailpanel from Desert Valley Auto Parts in Arizona. Lots of work left on the convertable WOW lots of fun!!

Brian, my take on that is, if you had gone to the dealer and ordered a service replacement decklid when they were available, it might have had any number of extra holes- or no holes at all with a notation "drill for mounting" depending on what GMPD had in stock at the time.

So that "convertible only decklid" myth is just that- a myth, perpetrated by some of the parts vendors in order to drive the price up.

My 1974 parts book shows one part number for 1970-72 F85 39, 69 and 67 styles.

I've owned 3 different NOS trunklids, with the GM sticker intact, and they don't have any holes at all.Just like the fenders.

70convert: I got the driver side from a guy in Oklahoma City. I gave thousand for it. I got the passenger side from Conn. and gave 800.00 for it plus shipping. I ordered one from dessert valley in may but I havent heard back from them.
