NOS 1980 Delta LH grille
#6
Still searching. Anyone?
I have been involved in high level restorations on a 1970 GTO Judge and a 1974 Chevelle Laguna Type S3 and this grille for my 1980 Delta has been by far the most difficult NOS piece to find for all three cars!!! Grrrrrrr
All because some jack*** threw a 5" boulder through the front of the grille sitting in front of my house.
Not going to give up......must keep searching!!!
Thanks Olds community. Hopefully the Holy Grail is out there somewhere.
Cheers

Much of the 80's nos stuff went right into gm's dumpsters, unfortunately. If I had an /nos one, I'd give it to you. It's hard enough to find one used that isn't garbage with the plastic chrome peeling off and plastic turning green.

Sucks you still can't find one.
I'd throw a decent matching pair of another year in there for the time being ... if you haven't already.
The 83-85 grilles seem to be the easier ones to find for what its worth.
Damn shame ... the 80 grilles IMHO are the best looking of the 80-85 run.

Thanks Jeremy + packrat,
I had thought I had a NOS one here a few months ago but it turned out to be for a Cutlass. Seller had the part numbers crossed up. I guess we will just keep looking.
I certainly will consider a used one, but it has to be very nice. I do have a couple used ones I have scored but they are not quite up to the condition of the car. I do appreciate everyones help though and if someone has a decent used one, please let me know.
I am probably a bit partial, I I do agree that the 80 grille is the nicest one!!!
Cheers

You can always look into getting them re-done. I was considering the option for my delta as well.
There is a fellow up in Madison, WI that supposedly restores chrome onto plastic the same way that GM did.
Here's the information.
