Need a TCS Solenoid, 1972 350

I'm looking for a TCS Solenoid for my 1972 Cutlass, 2 bbl 350, can be NOS or nice used, as long as it is not broken and is 100% functional

Do you have the type that threads into the intake manifold coolant passage or the one that is captured by one of the carb studs? I see them on ebay from time to time. You can bypass it unless you want it to look correct. I have mine connected and looks right unless you look real close it's actually bypassed.

Tsc

Excellent point, I'd rather go your route and bypass it, can you advise how all the vacuum hoses should be repositioned/rerouted? Thanks, much appreciated. I have the 72 Cutlass S 350 2 barrel carb with a/c. I have the one that threads into the coolant passage next to the thermostat housing, it has 3 openings on the side, one at the top along with the electrical plug fitting which is broken off on one pull.

Yet again, we run into the frustration of parallel threads.

In your other thread, 24 hours ago, I posted this:

Curious, I don't know much about these TSC solenoids, it could be bypassed and/or not used altogether? If so, where would those 3 lines into the side of it and the one on the top go to?
What exactly did you do to bypass it?

Just run the vacuum hose from your ported vacuum barb on the carburetor directly to the vacuum diaphragm on your distributor.
Done.

The DVCS and TCS are nothing more than hamhanded schemes to wreck your fuel mileage, destroy your performance, and make your engine overheat.
Get rid of them.
Here are two threads that address this subject:
https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...re-switch.html
https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...ol-switch.html"

So, Have you bypassed it, or is it an excellent idea that you want to try?

Have you even looked at your other thread where you asked the same question?

Yes, more or less. If your carb is from the right year range, there should be only one in that area.

Bummer. I tried that & I blocked off the open port on the TSC & the car ran worse. Despite the number on the carb being correct, I beginning to this this one just isn't right for the car, the last one didn't have this issue. Too bad as it idles fantastic but no one ever got anywhere at an idle. Thanks for your help, much appreciated. But it looks like I need to shop again for another one.

I think it's time for some pictures.

Let's see what you're doing and where you're connecting things.

If you bypass your DVCS/TCS, your performance should improve every time, as you will have just advanced your timing by several degrees.

Are you sure that your vacuum advance is working?

Does the port you're connecting to supply vacuum when the throttle plates are opened?

Is your engine modified in any way?
