The 10-bolt in my '72 Supreme went "boom" tonight (more like...BANG! screeeeech! as rear tires slid to a stop ). She's being dragged to a shop in the morning and I'm trying to weigh my options.

Anyone in the NJ/NY/Long Island area have a rear, in usable condition, that they want to get rid of, like really soon? Need a 8.5" 10-bolt, open or posi...I don't care at this point.

That did cross my mind. I hope to head down there on Sunday.

 

I would try to find another 8.5" 10-bolt,like the original rear in the car. That way you don't have any driveshaft modifications to do.

i have a 72 rear that came off my cutlass supreme, it was in good conditions when we took it off about 2 weeks ago; its in central jersey, open 2.73 gears
