AC Ducts

Can you describe or better yet take pictures of the ones you need? Is one the long plastic piece that attaches under the dash? I've seen several of those with the mounting tab under the steering wheel broken off. If you need the long one would you post what color of interior you have? John

I know your post was almost three years ago but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. I just bought a 1970 Cutlass and the under dash ducts are missing completely. I think who ever took the radio out, removed them to gain access to the dash speaker. Did you ever find all the correct duct work? If so and if you have pictures, I would really appreciate your sharing them. Thanks

Thanks John. My interior is black. I'm confused what this has to do with under dash ductwork. Do they show through the dash vents or something? I had no idea they came in colors.

I think you have the ductwork and the lower A/C vent outlet valance confused? The duct work behind the dash is all black plastic and black wire and fabric hoses, the lower valance that screws to the bottom of the dash is interior color. The dash section in the chassis service manual and the assembly manual shows the ductwork.

Here's a pic of my '71 dash and you can see the lower A/C valance. With an 8-track it's in two pieces from the factory or there's a template provided for the cuts if the dealer installed it, otherwise it's one solid piece.

Yes, I may have misunderstood your question. Between the different photos please identify the parts you need. I may or may not be able to help. John

Thanks for the clarification. I see I used the term "under dash" incorrectly. I should have said behind or up under the dash. My car doesn't have A/C yet. But I plan on adding an aftermarket one of these years. I suppose I will need them someday but they will have to be black. So what are all those blue pieces for? Are they all part of what is required if I put A/C in the car? Am I looking at 4 pieces or 9 pieces? My dash has side vents and one center vent above the radio. How many under dash vents are there if there is no tape deck? Thanks for going through all the trouble for me.

I also refered to the term "under the dash" when I originally posted this thread. I went and counted the # of pieces and there are 8. I am not really sure where they are going to go when I assemble them back but I plan on using the assembly manual when I put it back together

Smile Under the dash air ducts

Thanks for your help. I'll scour eBay. I have a gauge cluster mounted to the bottom of the dash in the center so I will look for the ones that fit the dash with a tape player.

I just removed the Factory Original complete A/C air duct and blower system from under neath my dash from the 1969 Olds pictured under my name .The Parts are in super nice condition and are complete with bolts brackets etc. I'm turning the Car into a street rod and don't want A/c or any of it's parts on my Car. I've also got the A/C parts including Original compressor and Eng A/C brackets avalible from the Eng Compartment. I'll try and post some pics in a few days.Just let me know if it's what you need.

What color are the pieces that mount to the bottom of the dash? My interior is black. Are they the ones that have room in the center for a tape deck?

It won't matter what color the pieces are, they are meant to be painted/dyed.

Thanks. Are they the ones that have the space in the middle of the dash for a tape deck? Please post some pictures and let me know what you want for the interior plastic duct work up under the dash and exposed pieces at the bottom of the dash.
