The convertible lid has rounded corners. The four door Cutlass shares the same deck lid as the convertible in 70 thru 72 though. The 2 door hardtop has more pronounced corners.

I haven't done it myself yet but I've been told that you can round off the corners of a hard top deck lid to make them fit a convertible. Anybody else ever tried this? http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/pts/4330648980.html

It would have to be a Cutlass Supreme deck lid. I was told after rounding the corners you may have to weld the inner panel to to the outer as they may seperate. Somebody just posted a 4 door 71 for parts on here today.

Took the car to a body shop in Hurst last week and they quoted @ $1,850 for the repair. I'm taking the deck to a couple of other places for a couple of more quotes.

That might be a little high to fix the rust and paint but not crazy. I think you might be able to save a few hundred and still match the quality of the rest of the paint.

Okay,

Got another quote for $410 to $500 to prep and paint the deck lid if I have it soda blasted first. Blasting it cost $80. How tricky is it to remove the molding around the lid?

How bad is yours? Can you post a picture? I have a spare I may sell, but it will need some work too. Local pickup only.
