Just out of curiosity, have you tried your local glass shop? I don't mean the national chains like Safelite, but rather your local mom-and-pop shop. You'd be surprised what they can get.
I needed a new windshield for my '73 Delta 88 last year. I did try Safelite, and, while their website assured me they could do the job, none of the local Safelite shops would do it. I'm guessing that's because they didn't want to work on a car this old.
I asked one of them if they could recommend anyone local who could do the job, and they gave me the name of a shop. I called them and they were great. I called them on a Wednesday, they told me they could have a new windshield by Friday, and we set up the installation for the following Monday. It went well, and the glass looks great. These folks did a fair amount of work on older cars and were used to the challenges that can sometimes arise. During the time I was there, they were also replacing the rear window on an early '70s Cadillac Eldorado.
My point is that you should not assume that new glass isn't available and that you're going to have to find something used or NOS. You might find NOS, who knows. Anything used is used, which means that it will likely have some scratches on it after this many years. There's nothing like a new windshield to be able to look through.
