looking for a crank shaft for a 1968 olds 455 engine mine is really wore so in need of a good crank or if anybody knows if they make a after market crank thanks email me here or call 815 519 4830 im in rockford il

 

Hi Chris there is one listed on ebay. The Item # is 310137259099 casting#397363 seller says its out of a 68 Hurst Olds

 

Chris, any 455 crank from 1968-76 will work. Some were nodular cast iron and some were not, then some were drilled for a standard transmission input shaft and some were not. There were some forged steel cranks used in 1968, but those are pretty rare. Any year will physically fit your motor and function just fine. Hope that helps! John

 

How bad is it?

Have your local machine shop check it out. If it is a good core, they can probably sell you a crank kit for under $150.

i have a 455 nodular crank that most likely needs turned .10. i would sell it for $75. i am in indiana about 4 hours away. i was up in your neck of the woods a couple years back at a 4 wheeler freestyle show.
