Man seeks #2-408329 WATER PUMP
Man seeks #2-408329 WATER PUMP
I don't think I have one in my vast array of parts.
Similar to casting ID "5", it is a medium at ~5.6" length, and has the smaller 1.75" inlet.
I have a #5 casting, but the applecation requires a #2 casting. I believe this is one of them oddball 71-72 pumps that were rarely used.
If you have a loose one but do not wish to sell it, perhaps you can rent it to me so I can make a mold of the "2"...
Thanks!

Sorry, this appears to be of the era where they used that small 1.75" inlet but had yet to go to the long 6" pump, so...
71-72 SB or BB with AC and/or HDC [Heavy Duty Cooling]
is my best bet for original application.
WP sheet says
Gr. 1.069, PN 231066
1971 - 1972, OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS 442 W30
w/HDC, OAI, OR PERF. AXLE.
Same as the #5 casting with CN possibile reads
418307
413307
418807
413807
except for of course the 2 vs 5 and differing casting number problem.
My current best plan is to take a #5 and put the right casting ID on it. Again we have come to the point where you simply cannot get the right casting, so I have to fabricate a replica.
If it helps motivate people, I can find one of them elusive "X" castings that the '70 w30 needs.... trade fodder
