M/T Valve Covers

I'm looking for a very good set of M/T, or Ebrock, or Holley. I have been though 2 sets now and still have a damn oil leak from the passenger cover, First set had a crack when the paint was removed and the set on there now looks like it had a repair and is not true straight so it leaks up by the firewall end. I'm gonna try one more set and if they don't work I will be going to stock lol. If you have a really good pair send me a msg please and thanks.

I don’t have any valve covers for sale but what are you using to seal them? I have a set on my motor that has a crack on the outside lip. I was able to get it to seal with the rubber gaskets. I apply the sealant to the valve cover side only, none on the head so it can be removed and reinstalled easily. Near the cracked lip I applied the sealant liberally. After I tightened the cover I let the sealant dry then I removed all the excess sealant that squirted out. I have since removed and reinstalled the valve cover several times without needing to replace the gasket.

First set that had a repair was done like you did, rtv on the valve cover than the gasket, leaked..so got another used set, knew one side was cracked so I bought it because I only needed one cover, rtv on valve cover then the gasket leaked lol..took off re cleaned and tried the thicker mr gasket dry, leaked in the same spot up near the firewall, I have the studs in the head so when i did the gasket dry the alignment was perfect, I'm at my wits end with it leaking on the head, makes the car smoke till it burns off. I never over torque the bolts either, just till snug than a half turn.

Valve Covers

I have one NOS set of Edelbrock cast aluminum valve covers, as well as a USED set that have been powder coated red and had the fins and lettering buffed off to reveal the aluminum. If interested, email me for pics, etc.: drolds1@bellsouth.net. Thanks, Bob.

Well I found why they were leaking, again a crack in the corner, 3 out of the 4 used M/T covers I bought had cracks in them, guess thats why they were selling them lol, I should have looked them over better but it hard to tell from pics and paint. Hope Bob restores my belief in people are not going to burn you, My Nos Eldebrocks showing up Thursday according to UPS, hope I get this damn pesky oil leak fixed.
