Here’s what I found. Probably too dark brown. One is excellent and the other has splits. Anybody know how to unravel 50 year old mats from the box This tore just trying to carefully unfurl. Suck No cracks on this other one of the pair but I didn’t try to open it up.
without causing a rip?
Ya I assuming other one will do the same thing when unrolled I appreciate your response, the mats I showed in the pic are NOS and I have them I plan on dying them if I don’t find any so I’m afraid your aren’t going to help me
I might as well experiment with the other. Maybe heat it slowly or clip one end and hang it to see if gravity will relax it. It’s oily as hell with whatever they packed it with.

i was thinking heat might work too assuming they weren’t brittle
I have a pair of NOS GM Tan Carpet mats, no box, they are Olds stock, I can check, measure or post pic tomorrow. I think they are all carpet though and bound in vinyl.

Pat, I am going to step aside and let you deal with Scott on these mats, The chance that he found the exact mats you were looking for is really a stroke of luck and these definatly belong in your car not mine!
