Looking for AC bracket for a 1976 Olds 98

Hi, Looking for one AC bracket for my 1976 Olds 98 car was a very low mileage but did not have the AC bracket that goes from the back of the compressor to the bolt on the engine head I thought maybe in 76 they didn’t have one but my 76 manual shows that they did and it’s called a strut. Appreciate any help

Greg

Give me time to look at my Linden-built Regency and at the junker 76 Custom Cruiser and see how they're made. If the Cruiser has it, it's yours.

1976 Linden 98

That brace isn't on my 76 and shows no sign of ever having it. Neither does the Custom Cruiser. Far as I know heads have never been off either. 98 compressor was replaced about 20 years ago.

Thinking maybe they used 71-75 drawing in the shop book? Could also have been an assembly plant thing since Linden and KC were building all carlines but Cadillac.

Any time!😎 Why are we here if not to help each other?

Did you ever sell the other 98? Might look and see if 73 had the brace. Back then, if they could save a dollar or a pound of weight, they'd do a running change in a minute.

Yes I did sell the 73 two door and now trying to sell the 73 4 door. Both of those cars had the brace or strut on the back of the compressor

Thanks again

Greg, does your engine have the stud in the back of the head for the bracket to attach to? That would be a tip off if it is or isn't there.

Good call! on the head bolt thing i just went out to look and there is a normal head bolt on the 76 not the studded one so i guess that answers that, its not suppose have the bracket.

Thanks Guys

Checked my 76 Regency, no strut or any sign there ever was one.
I just bought mine, only has14k mi. on it and I am pretty sure it is bone stock original.
